Dana Sederowsky, born 1975 in Helsingborg, lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden. Educated at the School of
Photography, BFA 1996-1999 and at Valand School of Fine Art, MFA 2004-2006.

Special Announcements has been part of several exhibitions internationally including: Centre for Contemporary Art, NCCA, Moscow and Ekaterinburg Russia.Center for Contempoary Art, Nicosia, Cyprus. Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney. Kunstverein Tiergarten Berlin plus upcoming exhibitions at Performer Stammtisch Berlin and WRO 09 Biennale, Wroclaw, Poland.

Dana Sederowsky works with video performance and photography. She is working with two ongoing projects.
The video performanceproject Special Announcements,
which started in 2006 and the photography and video project Dana Aid started in 1998.
As an artist she works solely with herself and her own body.
It is her determined choice to be autonomous and solitary.
Nothing in her work is accidental. It it calculated and strictly 
directed. Sederowsky investigates language through linguistic excercises, speech-acts and fonological experiments, focusing 
on the process of using speech and how words are delivered directly in the face of the viewer. She investigates language
not simply as a means of communication but also as a poetic and formal device.

  In the work Special Announcements the viewer meets a naked face that is situated in a black void. The character asks for attention and thoughtfulness about life itself.The matter of language is thoroughly investigated and the performance is strictly directed.
The figure is an esoteric whose eyes are closed, humanity does not seem to be worthy of a single look. An introvert character in contact with the soul that does not show any outgoing emotions. From this oracle-like position it speaks in a parallel manner as if it seems to be in dialogue with itself.		  
   
  Special Announcements Edition Four (2009)
Special Announcements Edition Four is a continuation of the projects evergoing research within linguistics and speech-acts.
In this edition the speech-acts emphasize the linguistic turns
that are being delivered by a freaky puppet-like individual.
The character seems trapped as it leans its head from side to side as a pendulum manipulating the viewer with both its moves and also through how the chryptic phrases are being pronounced.

The character is in a double sense dreanched in tears.
A professional weeper who suppressed bemoans whatever you wish.
